Position Summary

Associate Director, Performance Excellence, Quality, Planning and Innovation

We provide a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

The Performance Excellence team is responsible for providing expert support for a wide range of improvement work across the health service including training and coaching in redesign methods across Eastern Health. The Associate Director, Performance Excellence will work with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to drive improvement in care delivery using a range of redesign and improvement methods with a strong focus on lean.

You will need to have expertise and experience in a range of redesign methods, be able to work with a wide range of staff, demonstrate a good understanding of data analysis and presentation and be able to deliver improvement capability training. You will preferably have experience working within a complex environment such as health.

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in redesign and improvement methodologies with a specific focus on lean methods and tools
  • At least 3 years’ experience in delivering successful change in a complex health care environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience in project management
  • Experience in training coaching senior staff in improvement, project and change management
  • Ability to understand, analyse and report performance data
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A well developed understanding of health service funding and performance requirements
  • A commitment to improving the patient’s experience of their health care
  • A Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Tertiary qualification in health related field
