Events officer

Based in the CBD this Government agency is designed to enhance the lives of many Australians across the country. This well-respected government agency is seeking highly skilled and experienced applicants who have a passion for providing opportunity for accessing services! Our client is searching for an Events Officer with responsibility in the community and mainstream areas. This team is responsible for building capacity of participants to understand the agency and use their plan effectively and achieve their goal.

Commencing in October you will work Monday to Friday from 8:30am – 5pm for a 9 month assignment with the possibility of extension, subject to business requirements.

Role Description:

As the Events Officer you will be working directly with the Event Management and Logistics Leadership team to help find key opportunities that inform proactive event strategies, future events that are in line with branch and divisional strategies. As well as helping to provide logistical support to maintain the efficient delivery of our proactive, national consistent engagement activities.

Duties Include:

  • Responsibility for assisting, preparing, and logistics of agency events.
  • Identify new opportunities to represent the agency in future interactions with key stakeholders and public events
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to promote the agency
  • Ability to mentor/supervise support team members
  • Liasing with external suppliers, contributing to data management, providing briefing input
  • Providing briefing input and research as required

Requirements:

  • Valid Class C Drivers License
  • Intrastate and Interstate Travel
  • Positive attitude with an understanding knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals and the community
  • Competency in applying assessment tools and IT systems
  • Adaptable communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a team and adapt quickly to changing environments
  • Previous experience in events management, stakeholder engagement or an understanding of government work is highly desirable
