The APS6 Senior HR Advisor is critical to the operations of Parks Australia Division in the Department of the Environment and Energy.We are seeking a highly capable and professional HR practitioner who is comfortable working in a diverse and dynamic environment to fill this role
As a member of the Parks Australia HR Team, you will be dedicated support for the Director of National Parks and the Parks Australia Division. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the protection of some of the country’s most stunning natural areas and Aboriginal heritage through developing and implementing HR programs and projects.
The Parks Australia HR Team is embedded in the People Branch in the Department of Environment and Energy and therefore you will also have access to HR subject matter experts in every field and have access to the departments HR development opportunities. You will help support the aspirations of traditional owners, the protection and conservation of natural and cultural values and the provision world class visitor experiences by improving organizational capability through the delivery of HR advice, programs and projects.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to amazing destinations including Kakadu, Uluru-Kata Tjuta, Booderee, Christmas Island and marine protected areas surrounding Australia whilst remaining engaged in a broader HR branch.
This position provides opportunities for growth and development, including cross-skilling and enhancing HR capabilities in a range of HR functions. You will work collaboratively across functions, partnering with both HR specialists and business areas to develop and deliver accurate, fit-for-purpose HR advice and programs.
The activities you work on may involve both operational and strategic areas of HR, including:
• Providing high quality, professional advice on a range of HR matters, including recruitment, employment conditions, people management, learning and development, and wellbeing.
• Delivering HR priority initiatives and projects as determined by the Director of National Parks that relate to workforce design, recruitment, Indigenous employment, employee wellbeing and learning and development.
As the Senior HR Advisor, you will partner with a number of internal and external stakeholders to understand unique requirements and develop best practice HR solutions. You will have the opportunity to establish networks and relationships with employees and managers, at all levels, across Australia.
