Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Writer to join NSM based in Rockingham, Western Australia.

NSM currently has an exciting part-time , 0.6 FTE, opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Writer to join the Naval Ship Management (NSM) based in Rockingham, Western Australia.

The Technical Writer has a key role in developing work instructions in support of work packages including planned maintenance, corrective maintenance, urgent defects and certified items for the fleet. The Technical Writer ensures that all maintenance work instructions comply with the requirements of Naval Seaworthiness Regulatory Framework.

To be the successful candidate for this position you will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Technical Writing skills within Defence or similar industry;

  • Intermediate level of MS Excel and Word applications;

  • Exposure to AMPS level 35 or equivalent maintenance planning systems would be advantageous

  • Diploma in Engineering or relevant Trade Certificate; and

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
