Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting newly created opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Quality Assurance Adviser to join our team based in Henderson WA.
The Quality Assurance Advisor will deliver the Annual Audit programme and carry out a range of Quality Assurance and Control activities across a number of sites, including preparing reports and making recommendations against a range of multi-disciplined (some integrated) activities and sub-contractors. The scope of the audit programme incorporates all business-related procedures and activities that meet the Business Management System policy.
To be the successful candidate for this position you will require the following qualifications and experience:
Support the Quality Assurance and Control Manager with all compliance requirements of the Business Management system
Responsible for the delivery of both the annual audit programme and plan with comprehensive audit reports highlighting areas of both non-conformance and good practice
Carry out supplier pre-qualification capability audits and continued surveillance of capabilities
Continuous monitoring of operations to ensure company and legislative requirements are being met
Audit / verify Project documentation
Verify material conformance to specifications
Provide advice and support to project teams on Quality Assurance matters
Provide Contract specific Assurance services, e.g. Project documentation reviews and risk assessments etc., where necessary and run routine and ad-hoc reports on audit performance, non-conformances, customer complaints and accolades
Close out corrective actions from client, sub-contractor or internal non-compliance / observation reports ensuring remedial action is adequate and Objective Quality Evidence provided
Provide process compliance, systems and ‘themed’ audit service whilst supporting local project teams in the maintenance and development of their Project Management systems, processes and procedures and maintain strong working relationships with all key stakeholders through regular visits to project work fronts;
Support NSM Business Analyst role to collect and analyse data using statistical analysis methods,
Participate in improvement activities where assessments have identified opportunities for improvement and support any investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints and local contract issues and the overall improvement of the business
Attend Project meetings to advice & support Project teams on quality matters.
This role will align with an experienced Quality Assurance professional that has a proven track record of delivery within compliance and improvement of ISO 9001:2018 quality system. You will ideally have supporting tertiary qualifications within an associated discipline and have an excellent interpersonal and analytical skill set. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high level computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly.
