Introduction The Man Cave is a preventative mental health and emotional intelligence non-profit organisation for young men, their parents and teachers. Through transformational workshops, camps and community events we facilitate courageous conversations and long-term behaviour change focused on healthy masculinity, mental health, respectful relationships and gender equality.
Job Summary The role of the Community Engagement Coordinator is to design and facilitate events and workshops that engage the broader community around a world of healthy masculinity, and which support the emotional and psychological health and welfare of communities.
(1) Co-designing community events, programs and workshops with The Man Cave’s broader community, which: (a) support attendees social and emotional needs;
(b) educate and empower attendees to support themselves, their peers and broader society;
(c) safely challenge destructive social norms or behaviours (e.g. suicide and violence); and
(d) provide opportunities for attendees to improve their mental health, wellbeing and self-efficacy.
(2) Monitoring and evaluating the impact of events, programs and workshops and reporting to the Head of Programs or CEO for regular improvement;
(3) Securing partnerships with community organisations, local and state government and values-aligned companies and enterprises to support our work and the programs you create;
(4) Ensuring all events, programs and workshops designed and delivered directly advance The Man Cave’s long-term goals of equipping young men with the social and emotional tools necessary to improve their own lives and strengthen their communities
