About the role

The position is responsible for providing stakeholder engagement advice to project managers who deliver transport and infrastructure projects. This includes reviewing and approving communication management plans, developing stakeholder management strategies, managing website content, engaging with corporate communications to deliver creative, assisting with articles for corporate and external publications, and some face-to-face stakeholder engagement.

You will take responsibility for:

  • Reviewing and approving Communication Management Plans.
  • Assisting with strategy development for managing stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitoring the portfolio of projects for upcoming stakeholder engagement opportunities and risks.
  • Developing strong relationships with project managers and their supervisors.
  • Actively participate in on-site meetings to assess stakeholder engagement risks and opportunities.
  • Being the conduit with Corporate Communications to develop creative (such as project signs).
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and making process changes to improve the way the Transport and Infrastructure directorate manage stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensuring compliance to corporate communications and brand guides.

About you

  • You hold a Bachelor Degree of Marketing and Public Relations or have demonstrated equivalent experience and knowledge.
  • You have extensive experience in developing and delivering stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • You have proven ability to provide strategic advice and recommendations for stakeholder management.
  • You have a high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of professionals across a complex organisation.
  • You can work well in a team and have the ability to work in a multi-skilled team environment.
  • You deliver high quality services to customers (both internal and external), and can understand and manage customer expectations.
  • You have self-motivation and demonstrated initiative, creativity and the ability to foster enthusiasm among fellow staff.
  • You are a reliable person who constantly works towards achieving individual and team goals.

About Business and Program Management branch

  • Providing excellence in governance, business management and support functions for the Directorate.
  • Program/project governance including planning, reporting, programming, communication and system support to the Transport and Infrastructure directorate.
  • Providing disaster management and response for the City.
  • Business and Program Management focus on establishing a supportive and cohesive working culture building on the great skills and capabilities of the Transport and Infrastructure staff.

Transport and Infrastructure directorate is ultimately here to deliver quality infrastructure and services that align with the broader organisation vision and purpose. The directorate consists of asset custodians, service providers and business support roles that all contribute to the overall management, delivery and maintenance of quality infrastructure and services
