We are currently seeking a motivated person to join our small, dedicated team at our Gold Coast Office. This casual role will oversee the residential accommodation managed by the Gold Coast Homelessness Service overnight, providing supervision and support to clients, maintaining safety and security for clients at all times.

In this role you will:

  • Provide direct care, support and supervision of clients after hours/at night ensuring their safety and wellbeing and assisting each client to progress agreed tasks and goals in line with their individual case plan.
  • Respond to incidents and emergency situations including those that occur during sleep-over shifts to ensure safety and security for clients, staff and the public, taking into consideration assessment of all risk indicators and any strategies to limit risk and ensure safety.
  • Contribute to a positive supported accommodation environment, in line with the values and mission of the organisation, and with industry standards.
  • Work with clients in ‘lifestyle’ and community support related matters like meal preparation, cleaning, gardening/yard maintenance, facility maintenance, and community BBQs and events.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Experience working within the community services sector in particular in the field of homelessness or another field which provides transferable experience and skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including negotiation, advocacy, de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to actively engage with people who have a range of complex needs and to respect the cultures of all people you support and work alongside.

Remuneration

base salary + super + salary packaging + employee benefits
