The Coordinator Parks plans, develops, and coordinates the Parks and Natural Environment programs to ensure works are delivered within budget, timeframes, and specifications. Working closely with Coordinators across the Town’s Infrastructure and Operations teams, as well as with external contractors and suppliers, this position coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of operational and maintenance programs, and allocated capital works across the Town’s parks, precincts, including streetscapes and Public Open Spaces, to enhance outcomes to the Town's natural and urban areas.

Accordingly, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following;

  • Diploma qualification in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscape Design or relevant equivalent
  • Considerable field operations experience in a horticultural maintenance environment with comprehensive working knowledge of urban and natural areas maintenance and management practices and horticultural practices
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to negotiate and build and enhance working relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong supervisory and performance management skills and demonstrated organisational and planning skills including the ability to prepare budgets and manage works programs to deliver planned outcomes
  • Sound competency in the use of personal computers, including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management
  • C Class Drivers Licence
