Our client is looking to recruit a contractor for 7 months to lead the delivery of 4 regional Aboriginal community forums. Under the leadership of the organisation's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Board, the agency has become a lead agency in Australia in supporting evidence-based programs, creating knowledge and promoting understanding of the historical legacy of trauma and its manifestation in contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Programs are informed by evaluation and inform knowledge development to shape better practice. Sharing evidence you will create opportunities to link healing knowledge systems nationally which will enable communities to support each other and grow stronger.
The role will involve strong project management skills to drive clear outcomes and produce real change. You will also have experience engaging and supporting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities to develop quality healing environments for their people as part of the agency's core business. As evidence and knowledge grows, the need to support communities to build quality and effective healing responses will increase. This requires assistance in developing processes at an individual, family and community level.
It is desirable that candidates will be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander with strong community engagement and project management experience. You will have had experience in supporting program delivery and have had experience working with Aboriginal communities to help people create a different future. Working with community members, including children and young people you will be engaged in the development and design of healing work.
