The position of Biosecurity and Agriculture Services branch forms a part of the Agriculture Victoria group.
Reporting to the Biosecurity Manager – South East, the Education and Engagement Officer – Gippsland will be responsible for consolidating and improving community led established weed control programs. This role will focus on building the capacity of landowners to manage established weeds across the west and southern Gippsland regions.
This will include assessing the effectiveness of current community led weed control programs, designing interventions to encourage voluntary compliance activities and providing direction to regulatory Agriculture Victoria staff for enforcement where appropriate.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, stakeholder management and conciliation experience, and highly developed organisation skills. It is expected that this role will require considerable time in the field meeting community members in person.
