Our Federal Government Client is looking for an APS5 Personnel Officer for a 6-Month Contract on a Non-Ongoing basis.

Overview of the role:

As an APS 5 Personnel Officer in the People Team of Corporate Management Group, under the general supervision and guidance of the Director, People Support you would:

  • Supervise the work of the Personnel Section, comprising payroll, conditions of service, compensation and associated matters;
  • Administer leave and pay variations, including more complex processes in relation to employee pays, superannuation, workers compensation, overseas employees, SES remuneration, and pay run support;
  • Perform testing for Personnel section;
  • Provide feedback to the Team Leader on issues of time management, resources and client escalations
  • Manage and maintain the organisational hierarchy and position management within Aurion;
  • Develop, prepare, and provide HR reports and analysis to support HR metrics;
  • Develop procedural and technical manuals and guidelines;
  • Actively contribute to positive team relationships and provide assistance to other team members to build capability within the People team; Identify opportunities for business improvement; and),
  • Undertake other HR activities/projects as directed.

Job requirements and qualifications:

Essential

  • Demonstrated payroll experience and a good working knowledge of legislation and employment conditions
  • Experience in Aurion HRIMS system (administration and self service)
  • Proficient in Excel and HR metrics reporting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management and prioritisation skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of HR (generalist) and qualifications in Human Resources
