The Monash Health Pathology Service operates under the brand name of Monash Pathology and is an integral part of Monash Health. It is one of the largest providers of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 5 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional facilities being located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There are currently 12 collection centres based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.
About the Role
An exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced clinical bioinformatician is available within Monash Pathology to join our expanding clinical genomics service.
You will lead clinical implementation of Monash Pathology’s bioinformatics solutions, focusing initially on the NATA-accreditation of clinical exome sequencing for both germline and somatic testing. You will work with established partners including bioinformaticians from the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance, Melbourne Bioinformatics, and Monash University. The position will provide access to extensive computing resources and state-of-the art software solutions, working closely with experienced laboratory scientists both in Monash Health and the Monash Health Translational Precinct, Monash Health information technology experts, external software vendors, and clinicians to guide the long term strategy for, and development of, bioinformatics at Monash Health.
This position will allow you to establish yourself as a senior leader in the field of clinical bioinformatics, building on your track record, extensive experience in the field and/or doctorate level qualifications.
