The Department of Home Affairs is a central policy agency, providing coordinated strategy and policy leadership for Australia's national and transport security, federal law enforcement, criminal justice, cyber security, border, immigration, multicultural affairs, emergency management and trade related functions.
The Department of Home Affairs includes the entirety of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. It also includes national security, emergency management and criminal justice functions from the Attorney-General's Department; the Office of Transport Security from the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development; multicultural affairs from the Department of Social Services; and the counter-terrorism coordination and cyber security policy functions from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Overview of the Branch and Section:
The Corporate and Case Systems Branch, within the Home Affairs ICT Division, is responsible for:
The Corporate and Case Systems Delivery Management section provides branch level support for all aspects of project delivery. It is the entry point for dependency work across other ICT delivery branches and works collaboratively to facilitate the allocation and delivery of work packages coming in and out of the branch.
The team is responsible for developing the branch view of the forward work plan and is an escalation point for project managers in resolving delivery issues.
Corporate and Case Delivery Management provides general coordination of project reporting within the branch and is a contact point for PMO and business engagement.
About the role:
The Project Manager will develop and maintain strong relationships with an extensive range of stakeholders both internally and externally to the project, enabling negotiation and cooperation with stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for the project. The project manager undertakes complex work activities that cover technical, financial, people, stakeholders, procedural and governance issues and is required to undertake problem solving amongst competing priorities. The role is required to be able to identify and manage project risks and issues, escalating as required.
Project Managers will manage multiple internal resources assigned to the project/s, and if required, external service providers working onsite for the project through service engagements. It is expected that Project Managers are responsible for a number of projects concurrently.
The Agile Scrum Master position is required to facilitate the delivery of a product through daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint demonstration/showcase and retrospective meetings. The Scrum master may be required to work across multiple delivery teams to assist them in achieving their goals.
You will have the ability to coach and mentor teams in agile methodologies and to help individuals and teams clarify goals and actions to achieve them.
