Technical training coordinator - auto-tech

Repco’s dedicated Automotive Technical Team are looking for an experienced Mechanic, Auto Electrician, or Auto Trainer to join their specialist team in the capacity of Technical Training Coordinator. The position will involve coordinating, managing and facilitating Auto-Tech training to our trade customers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with extensive industry experience to design and coordinate training programs, while imparting expert knowledge and experiences, to industry technicians and mechanics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver training courses at an advanced level
  • Present to groups of up to 30 people in a classroom format
  • Course planning and development
  • Assist with coordination of a small team of trainers around Australia
  • Work closely with key stake holders to establish customer contact and sales strategies

To make a smooth transition into the role, you will ideally be a qualified mechanic, automotive electrician or automotive trainer. You will have extensive technical knowledge and may have had experience delivering training sessions or presenting to groups.

Additionally, you will have:

  • Exceptional organisation skills
  • An engaging personality, and able to build rapport quickly
  • Ability to clearly explain technical componentry and theory
  • The ability to speak to audiences of all sizes and experience
  • A strong sales focus, and ability to recognise opportunities
  • A solid work ethic
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Completed Certificate IV Workplace Planning and Assessment (or similar)

This role requires frequent travel, averaging one week away per month (12 weeks per year). You will be hands on, and eager to do general training administration along with presenting and facilitating. You will be comfortable reviewing training material and converting that information into a relatable format for your audience. You will be comfortable keeping up to date and informed of technical updates, changes and developments that affect service and repair.

This position will ideally be situated in our Rowville Support Office (Vic), but can be based in any major metro area in Australia for the right person.
