Your new company Australian owned unique company which works in the manufacturing of large-scale robots. It is a multiple award winner which exports its products to an expanding global market. Its head office in Port Melbourne offers a stimulating and dynamic working environment working closely with a large diverse team.

Your new role
You will be responsible for leading timely, efficient and high-quality electrical design engineering design. Your main roles will be:

  • Undertake professional electrical engineering design, including electrical component selection and evaluation through all stages of design, fabrication, testing and installation.
  • Use highly developed electrical engineering expertise and control theory.
  • Prepare & manage documentation and technical reports
  • Use of software program EPLAN Electrical P8
  • Take active responsibility for own Occupation health and Safety
  • Comply with policies and procedures

What you’ll need to succeed

  • You will be required to have a current Victorian drivers’ licence and valid passport.
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with significant experience in automating machinery with electronics (factory, assembly robots, etc)
  • Demonstrate electrical engineering expertise in the production of controls and power distribution systems for machinery (Approx. 5 years of experience is required)
  • Knowledge of methods for the design of safe systems using hazard analysis techniques (FMEA, HRA, etc)
  • Advanced skills in software applications such as CAE design programs, EPLAN Electric P8 and SolidWorks 3D, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of PLC controls systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience with designing to international standards (UL, GB, etc)
