Speech & Language Pathologist/S


Q Speech & Learning Clinic is a private Speech Pathology practice located in the heart of Kogarah, a hub of medical and educational institutions and specialists. We are looking for a speech pathologist to join our friendly and committed team, with flexibility in working arrangements, making it suitable for professionals also juggling family life!

Our practice offers speech pathology services at schools, in childcare facilities, nursing homes and in our modern, well resourced clinic rooms. Our caseloads are predominantly paediatrics, however we provide swallowing and communication intervention for people of all ages.

The successful applicant will have the unique opportunity to learn the specialised modality of orofacial myology from our principal speech pathologist, an international lecturer on the topic. 

We are looking to fill a Part-time/Full-time Speech Pathologist position - with the opportunity to job share or increase caseload to full-time. 

The successful applicant will have access to regular supervision and professional development opportunities, as well as scope to take on a mentoring role for colleagues with less experience. 

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Enthusiastic, warm and driven to provide quality, evidence based and professional service to our families
  • Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of assessment and therapeutic treatment in paediatric speech pathology 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrate time management skills and flexibility
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when communicating with families, teachers and other heath professionals
  • Current membership with  SPA
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Eligible for Medicare Provider Number
  • Own professional insurance and indemnity cover

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in schools and with special needs populations
  • Additional professional training (e.g. LSVT, Hanen Programs, Multilit, TalkTools, Lindamood-Bell)
  • Current drivers licence and ability to use own car to travel to appointments
