The ACMA’s Content and Consumer Division manages matters relating to content regulation and media ownership and control, regional media, consumer codes, investigations and telecommunications issues including anti-spam, e-security and the Do Not Call Register.
Within the Division is the Content Safeguards Branch which manages operational policy, compliance activities, complaints and queries about content and investigates alleged breaches of relevant codes of practice, standards, the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 and the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
You will be primarily responsible for assisting the Branch to deliver on its targets in all key areas, including in the allocation and renewal of community broadcasting licences, development and review of regulatory policy, delivery of grants, investigation and enforcement following complaints about compliance, as well as the preparation of complex correspondence, responses to requests for information, briefs and reports relating to matters within the Branch’s regulatory responsibilities.
This position will be available initially on a non-ongoing basis for up to 12 months with the possibility of becoming ongoing.
