Land Access Negotiator

If you are a Land Access professional with experience in delivering land access for the energy, utilities or property sectors, then this role is a chance for you to develop your negotiation skills whilst working for an industry leader.

What’s the role?

The purpose of this role is to deliver access to land through successful negotiation with landholders and their legal representatives. The incumbent will be expected to act as an enabler and facilitator of commercial outcomes for the organisation.

Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities of this role are:
  • Accountable for drafting and negotiating legal agreements for access to land in compliance with relevant legislation including Conduct and Compensation Agreements and Easements.
  • Accountable for ensuring all written and verbal correspondence to landholders and their legal or nominated representatives is professional and in accordance with QGC’s Land Access Strategy.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for individual landholders that meets Upstream Delivery Process timelines and within the Upstream Compensation Framework.
  • Escalate issues to Lead Land Access Negotiator (as required) to ensure issues are dealt with promptly.
  • Assist to implement compliance activities to meet the needs of the Access Team.


What we need from you:
  • Experience in land access or property-related work, preferably in the CSG industry, with a sound knowledge in major project development and a demonstrated understanding of issues that impact a large resource development.
  • Experience in commercial negotiation and complex problem solving in a large corporate, service or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of adding real value to the decision-making processes in a business with an ability to present a point of view thoughtfully and persuasively with a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in delivering outcomes against tight deadlines and reaching goals despite obstacles, setbacks and/or uncertainty.
