Senior Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst

  • Ensure that appropriate and meaningful risk reporting and analysis is in place, and key mortgage segments are reviewed regularly, to assist in making balanced policy and portfolio recommendations to the Head of Mortgages Risk.
  • Create, review and deliver Consumer Mortgages portfolio performance reports, quickly identify, analyse and highlight issues arising with the Head of Mortgages Risk.
  • Develop new SAS programs and adapt existing programs to support global policy and regulatory reporting requirements, as well as in-country policy changes.
  • Use specialist conceptual understanding of mortgages data to assist with the implementation of new projects and decision-making.
  • Alignment of the definitions used in both Mortgage portfolio reports and Finance and ensure that the necessary steps are taken for consistency between portfolio and Finance reporting.
  • Contribute to the creation of presentations to senior risk managers, on topics including global loss model forecasting results, regulatory stress test results, macro-economic indicators in the housing market and the consumer mortgages risk appetite framework reviews.
  • Ensure timely completion of regional deliverables including loan concentration reports, status reports, regulatory reports and other ad-hoc data requests.
  • Initiate and oversee data quality issues arising from portfolio summaries and regional and global reporting requirements.
  • Build a strong network with risk professionals within the Citibank country, region and global risk teams, and across business and support groups.


  • Tertiary qualifications in a mathematics/statistics/ finance discipline
  • 5-7 years of experience in the analysis of complex data sets, preferably in a financial services context.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of Mortgage Lending Practices and Residential Real Estate is desirable
  • Experience in data analysis and report generation using advanced SAS/ SQL coding is essential
  • Ability to use MS Excel for data manipulation is essential
  • Basic knowledge of Maintaining MS-Access databases is desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, prioritise and deliver to tight timeframes
  • Effective relationship management, team membership and communication skills
