Assistant Financial Accountant. Six Month Maximum Term Contract - Newcastle

About the role

Six month maximum term contract on a full time basis located in our Newcastle Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely periodic financial statements
  • Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of State and National invoicing, journals and ledger reports
  • Monitor, review and manage fixed asset register
  • Ensure financial records are sufficient and appropriate for the audit process and assist external auditors throughout annual audit process
  • Assist Corporate Support areas in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Work with Business Partner teams to ensure compliance with funding contracts across all jurisdictions and service sectors  

Skills & Experience

  • Currently studying (or completed) degree in Accounting, Commerce or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in an accounting role using solid reconciliation skills and a computerised accounting package
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Good team player with a can-do attitude

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
