Where you'll be working
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within Health Protection NSW (HPNSW). HPNSW works closely with public health units in local health districts in the development, implementation and evaluation activities to protect public health.
What you'll be doing
This position is to support statewide communicable disease surveillance, in particular the de-duplication process required for the Notifiable Conditions Information Management System (NCIMS), and HIV surveillance, which is undertaken in Communicable Diseases Branch (CDB) for the whole of NSW. The position will also maintain the currency of technical communicable diseases information on the NSW Health website.

Selection Criteria
  • Relevant experience in communicable diseases surveillance and web page administration, including relevant qualifications or equivalent. This includes sound knowledge and practical experience in MAVEN and SharePoint software systems
  • Sound analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret information, prepare written reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focussed solutions
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focussed approach
  • Relevant interpersonal and influencing skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders and customers to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes
  • Proven engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills with the capability to build, maintain and use relationships with stakeholders
  • Proven capacity to contribute to and implement communicable diseases surveillance and control initiatives, including the capability
