About the opportunity

Pinjarra Refinery are seeking application for a suitably qualified Electrical Superintendent in leading our Electrical Instrument (EI) personnel in supporting our Refinery's operation. The working roster for this position is Monday through Friday and accrues four weeks annual leave per year.

We view the Electrical Superintendent as accountable for the EI maintenance of plant, equipment, and facilities to enable the refinery to optimise production. We aim for optimal availability of the equipment; which spans a diverse range from high power, high voltage power generation to the latest solid station electronics technology! Through your team’s preventative maintenance and analysis this is sure to be achieved.

Furthermore, your responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring the work group are technically proficient across EI maintenance by providing resources, training, development, mentorship and guidance,
  • Upholding high work standards, maintaining a safe working environment by complying to statutory requirements, advocate for safe work practices and attitudes with own crews, and also plant wide,
  • Monitor and improve EI staff performance by engaging in performance appraisals, organisational changes and investigating incidents,
  • Actively support improvement projects by reviewing and recommending technology upgrades, contributing to cost efficiencies to better meet EI department objectives,
  • Participating in setting the central maintenance budget and establishing information systems for their control.

About where you will work

Pinjarra Alumina Refinery is located 90 kilometres south of Perth, a 30-minute drive from the coastal city of Mandurah and six kilometres, or a 10 minute drive, east of the regional town of Pinjarra. It is situated in the Peel region of Western Australia, within the Shire of Murray and is a major regional employer with approximately 1000 employees.
