About the Role

Telethon Speech & Hearing provides hearing and ear health services to thousands of families each year. Based in Perth and working across metropolitan and rural locations we work with local communities to provide hearing surveillance, audiological assessments and rehabilitation services. 

We have available a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Audiologist to join our team on a part time parental leave coverage contract.  

Our service offerings are unique and as an audiologist at Telethon Speech and Hearing your caseload will be varied, complex, interesting and rewarding.  Duties in this role are varied and can include:

  • conducting audiological assessments and providing advice to children and their families with complex needs such as hearing and/ or speech and language impairment
  • empowering and educating clients, parents and families for optimal outcomes
  • providing community-focussed audiological services to rural and remote locations
  • providing adult assessments and hearing aids to adult clients including our alumni and adults in remote communities
  • providing education to TSH staff and the community

About You

To be successful you will be a qualified audiologist with extensive experience in working with children and families in the education and/or tertiary health sector. 

In addition, you will need to be able to:

  • Engage in collaborative partnerships with external communities, as well as within our trans-disciplinary teams of teachers, speech pathologists, psychologists and occupational therapists
  • Work with paediatric clients with complex needs
  • Manage clinics, client information, clinic and screening records to ensure timely review and referral processes
  • Undertake travel to rural locations

The successful candidate will need to provide a Working with Children Check and current Police Clearance as well as hold a C Class Drivers’ Licence (as this role requires travel to rural locations, metropolitan schools, child care centres and health centres). They must also be eligible to provide services under the Office of Hearing Services and Allied Health Medicare registration.
