Position Information

Yarrawarrah Public School has an enrolment of 295 students. The students enjoy a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. Our attractive school is well-resourced and provides student access to the latest technologies to further enhance their learning. Focus areas for 2020 will include reading, numeracy, high potential and gifted education, STEM and Aboriginal Education. The students thrive in an environment which offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, such as: chess, environmental projects, debating and public speaking, choirs, dance, physical education and gifted and talented programs. We also offer all students the opportunity to compete in a range of competitive and non-competitive sporting activities. Selection Criteria

Approval to teach K-6 students with learning and support needs with a demonstrated capacity to promote and maintain student wellbeing.

Capacity to plan, implement and evaluate differentiated and evidence-based learning programs in collaboration with classroom teachers to support student needs.

Demonstrated high level communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to liaise with the whole school community and with external agencies.

Proven ability to develop positive, inclusive learning environments through the highly effective management of student behaviour, supporting students with a range of social and emotional needs.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the

at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

This is a permanent part-time position for three days per week 0.6 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
