Anzac Park Public School is a newly established school and opened in 2016. Currently the school has 720 students enrolled across Kindergarten to Year 6 including 2 K-6 Multicategorical Support Classes. The school’s enrolment is expected to continue to grow rapidly with the school’s capacity over 1000 students. The school currently has 41% of students with a Language Background Other than English. Anzac Park has a clear vision for learning based on the principles of visible learning combined with a future-focused mindset. This includes a commitment to co-teaching in flexible learning spaces and an emphasis on STEAM education and 21st Century learner qualities. The school has a committed, collaborative and future-focused staff and an enthusiastic and proactive parent community. The Support Unit embraces a co-teaching model and prioritises authentic mainstream integration opportunities for all students.
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorders, with demonstrated ability to establish effective partnerships with parents, community, support agencies and colleagues to achieve improved outcomes for students. Demonstrated ability to implement strategies that meet the communication, sensory, social and behavioural needs of students in a Multicategorical Support Class setting. Demonstrated capacity to plan and deliver evidenced based, differentiated personalised learning programs which are accessible and engaging for students with special needs; focusing on improvement in literacy and numeracy skills and incorporating current technologies. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively in teams and the ability to ensure that the school Support Unit operates as part of a whole school approach to inclusive education.
