Position Information

Sefton High School (enrolment 1066 including 95% from Non English speaking background) is a co-educational, partially selective school in South Western Sydney. Students come from diverse cultural, linguistic and socio economic backgrounds. The school is characterised by a focus on high expectations of all and quality teaching and learning in a highly structured and disciplined learning environment which has the support of parents. This results in excellent standards of attendance, academic achievement, conduct and personal development. Students also engage enthusiastically in sport and co-curricular activities. Selection Criteria

Approval to teach personal development/ health/physical education, community and family studies, sport lifestyle and recreation, exploring early childhood. Willingness to teach dance.

Evidence of successful teaching experience including the ability to deliver engaging and differentiated student learning programs and assessments that emphasise literacy, engagement and practical skills.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of faculty and whole school priorities that enhance student learning achievement and student wellbeing.

Proven capacity to lead and develop whole school sporting programs including coaching sport teams.

Ability to apply Gifted Education pedagogy to the teaching of high potential students.
