Technical Services Engineer - Brisbane


AeroPearl is a Special Mission aviation company based at Brisbane airport providing Flight Inspection Services to both domestic and international clients.  To support the operation of three B350 aircraft modified with the latest generation Aerodata flight inspection equipment, AeroPearl seeks a Technical Services Engineer (TSE).

The TSE will work in accordance with AeroPearl’s Engineering Management System and under the direction of the Chief Technical Services Engineer to ensure the serviceability and technical compliance of the flight inspection equipment to national and international standards.  The TSE will provide technical expertise and support to AeroPearl’s Flight Inspectors and clients  including managing upgrades to the Flight Inspection Equipment ensuring that the systems have the latest capabilities.  The TSE will lead technical investigations and implement corrective actions to ensure that issues are rectified in a timely manner.

For this role the following skills are considered mandatory:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in RF, Receiver Performance and Testing;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in maintaining and upgrading airborne or other complex mission systems;
  • Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to develop and understand software code.
  • Experience working under a formal Engineering Management System including the development of engineering documentation such as test procedures and writing defect investigation reports;
  • Ability to interface with customers and OEMs on a technical level;
  • Tertiary level engineering qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. Avionics, RF, Electrical / Electronics);
  • A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to prioritise work, set and meet targets and work independently.

For this role the following skills are considered desirable:

  • Knowledge / background in navigation aid maintenance and testing;
  • Knowledge / background in measurement and calibration;
  • Either hold RPEQ accreditation, or be eligible to attain; and
  • Experience as technical aircrew (observer, special mission console operator).

Specific training on the Flight Inspection mission systems and the Engineering Management System will be provided.  Given the nature of the operation some domestic and international travel will be required.
