Business Development Manager - Logistics, Supply Chain Management, 3PL


ABOUT ROLE

Seeking a knowledgeable, dedicated and energetic Business Development Manager who will be responsible for existing and expanded domestic 3PL relationships and implementation of major projects for our client's rapidly growing, customer centric business.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Owning and managing all domestic & international 3PL and business partner relationships
  • Managing a small team of warehouse, shipping and inventory employees
  • In partnership with the customers, design a strategy and framework to maximise import efficiency
  • Establishing and implementing performance metrics, scorecards, reporting and monthly/quarterly business reviews
  • Managing varying incoterms
  • Working with the Group Head of Operations and the various partners to consolidate and implement specific distribution requirements for the domestic regions
  • Ensuring all inventory processes across all sites are compliant with auditing requirements
  • Working collaboratively with multiple teams to project manage change
  • Collaborating with the People and Culture team to develop a customer focused team
  • Providing a work environment that focuses on delivering excellence, problem solving, and managing mutual accountability
  • Building a positive working relationship with partners and internal stakeholders
  • Developing people, safety, finance and operations management to optimise loading, utilisation % and resource management
  • Performance management including developing metrics, optimizing operations and achieving targets

WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE

  • At least 5 years of senior 3PL management experience, either within a 3PL, or via a closely managed client relationship
  • Be reliable, enthusiastic, self-motivated and performance driven
  • Bachelor's degree in Warehousing, Distribution or Logistics preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including building and managing a customer focused team
  • Proactive approach to completing tasks and lead initiatives
  • Able to multitask in a fast pace environment
  • Effectively copes with change and is energized by tough challenges
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written, presentations)
  • Ability to partner with a diverse group of people
  • Continuous improvement experience  
  • ERP/WMS management system  
  • Commercially minded
  • Freight forwarding experience
  • Previous experience in tender management
  • Understanding Asian/Japanese business culture (preferred but not essential)
  • Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation

BENEFITS

  • Full Time role based in West of Melbourne (Close to Laverton / Sunshine)
  • 2 years contract - project base with possible extension
  • Salary of $70,000 - $80,000 (negotiable) + Super + Commission + Car Allowance

This role is based in Melbourne West (Close to Laverton / Sunshine) *Own transportation is required
