Joint Referral Unit (JRU) Health Manager

The JRU Health Manager, alongside the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and Police, makes decisions on the need for a Joint Child Protection  Response  (JCPR)  and/or other local responses for cases of serious child abuse and neglect referred by the NSW Child Protection Helpline. This includes seeking, reviewing, analysing and sharing key information with Police and DCJ to inform the decisions and actions taken by the JRU.
Leads the JRU Health Team to ensure timeliness and accuracy in the provision & distribution of information to health services across NSW to facilitate the health’s assessment and treatment of abused and neglected children and young people.
This is a complex role requiring the provision of specialist advice, constant interagency collaboration and input into the broader provision of NSW Health’s child protection related services.
