Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Team Leader to join the Purchasing and Accounts Payable team at MRPV. This role reports to the Manager, Financial Accounting and will oversee the integrity and consistency of financial transaction management within the department financial control environment. As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for reviewing purchase requisitions in Oracle Financial System and provide leadership to the accounts payable team and engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding invoice payments. You will also provide reports to management on the performance of the business regarding purchasing and accounts payable and lead the engagement with MRPV's procurement team, accounts payable and external suppliers to support seamless procure to pay process.

This is an ongoing position.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have strong business acumen, well developed leadership and interpersonal skills and a proactive nature with strong attention to detail. You will demonstrate the ability to provide specialist purchasing and accounts support services, including an in-depth knowledge of accounting standards and the application of effective purchasing controls, as well as the ability to use enterprise resource planning and financial reporting systems, including Oracle, Microsoft Office, data analytics applications and electronic records management systems. You will be a quick thinker and make sound decisions that suit the business within a timely manner and also have an influential and friendly manner to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  

It is highly desirable that you hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance and/or Business with an understanding of Victorian Government financial policies and processes.
