Compliance-Based Communications Consultant (Six-Month Contract)

A leading super fund is looking to appoint a communications specialist to fulfil their operational and compliance-based requirements. You have worked in the superannuation industry and enjoy establishing processes and procedures to update, gain stakeholder approvals and be the driver through to sign-off. This newly created project will work closely with the Operations unit to ensure materials meet prudent management of business needs and processes to adhere to regulatory requirements. Your communications prowess means you enjoy working independently and keep a careful record of all communications to act honestly and diligently as part of this role and organisation’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Share in honest, factual and easy to comprehend document formats to make sure all information regarding the project is presented transparently to all relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise with appropriate staff to establish objectives, plans and various project tasks during project phases 
  • Keep an open and curious attitude to help the broader communications team understand the project history as well as (at times) stakeholder concerns
  • Easily change work scopes and be malleable as workloads continue
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a manner that works for them and suitably select appropriate channels to obtain their input
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external agencies on content and education materials to integrate communications to members 
  • Ensure timely delivery of communication items to a quality standard  
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience within financial services, preferably superannuation 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a keen interest in meeting business needs and processes
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Proficient in managing external supplier to develop, print and distribute member communications 
  • Sharp editing and detail-oriented with a bias towards action
  • Ability to work independently, align priorities, anticipate gaps, and be flexible in this dynamic environment

This position is a contract position and part of a project that will last for the next six months only — preferably tertiary qualified in Communications, PR or Journalism. RG146 highly regarded.
