Support Service Supervisor - Aged Care Townsville


The Client

Our client is a well-established Aged Care facility based in Townsville. There is an urgent opportunity for an experienced, skilled and qualified Service Supervisor, with previous supervisory experience overseeing large teams of catering, laundry and housekeeping staff. Appropriate training and onboarding provided to the successful candidate. This role will require a sound understanding of Food Safety standards and menu planning, to oversee their kitchen staff, in addition to understanding the operational requirements of housekeeping and laundry facilities of an Aged Care facility.

The Opportunity

This role will require a sound understanding of Food Safety standards and menu planning, to oversee kitchen staff, in addition to understanding the operational requirements of housekeeping and laundry facilities of an Aged Care facility. To be considered, you must have demonstrated experience managing large teams in busy Aged Care or Health care facilities, with a professional, organised and friendly Leadership style! Your success will be measured by your proven ability to oversee and manage the Aged Care Facilities team and to ensure smooth operation, compliance, and a high quality of care to internal and external clients.

About You

  • Diploma or Degree or equivalent in Hospitality, Business or relevant discipline
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (required)
  • Knowledge of menu planning for the elderly (required)
  • Safe food handling knowledge (required)
  • Experience in monitoring stocks & controlling costs (required)
  • Prior experience in a similar role within an Aged Care / Health Sector preferred. Supervisory experience from Hospitality may also be considered
  • Prior supervisory experience ideally in catering, environmental or laundry area essential
  • Previous experience of auditing processes and continuous improvement systems
  • Knowledge of Contemporary Aged Care Services

In addition to holding the releant qualifications and experience, applicants should also posses ALL of the following skills and attributes:

  • Sound experience in the use of computing software, especially Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills
  • Sound planning and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Ability to administer stock levels and cost control (as necessary)
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills and cultural sensitivity
  • Self directed in work load management
  • Ability to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines
  • Sound understanding of quality systems & processes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated to achieve good results
