About Department

As part of our mission, SVHM strives to provide equitable access to health care for patients from rural Victoria. The SVHM haematology service have had a longstanding partnership with Goulbourn Valley Health in this endeavour.

This position will be a co-appointment with Goulburn Valley Health (GVH). The position requires attendance in the Haematology department of St Vincent Hospital, including outreach clinics at GVH, as well as on site clinics at GVH. You will participate in haematology inpatient care and on call services on site at GVH.

About the Role

The successful candidate provide high quality clinical care to the haematology patients of SVHM and that of our partner, Goulburn Valley Health. This includes patients with malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions.


  • Provide consultative advise to other departments
  • Clinical care – inpatient service (GVH), outpatient clinics (SVHM and GVH)
  • Attend Multidisciplinary meetings
  • Participating in department educational activities
  • Conduct clinical trials as an investigator and manage patients on clinical trials

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • MMBS and FRACP or equivalent by examination in Haematology
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability
  • Trained in GCP and other aspects of clinical trial conduct
  • Effectively able to communicate and engage patients, relatives and colleagues
