Legal Practice Support Officer

The Department of Environment Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has a requirement to fill a Legal Practice Support Officer role within the Legal and Governance Division. This is a varied role which supports the Deputy General Counsel, who is also the Director, Legal and provides executive and administrative support to action incoming queries and support the branch's workflow.
The overall duties entail providing service excellence to all internal and external stakeholders, diary management, ‘deadline management', legal matter administration, information and data management, generation of quality and accurate reports and general project support. This role plays a key part in the success of a busy, high-performing team.
Our ideal candidate has previously worked in a fast-paced legal practice and is extremely familiar with the day to day requirements and work of a legal team.
Working closely with the Deputy General Counsel, your professional skills will be relied on to manage information with discretion, take instructions and apply your sharp mind to the demands of the role. You make it your job to be across all administrative matters for the Legal team and are ready to provide updates when asked. You do not leave loose ends, problems unsolved or questions unanswered.
You are extremely organised in your multi-tasking – and are relied on to successfully deliver yours and the team's objectives. This style of work comes naturally to you, you do not get flustered, distracted or overwhelmed; and are able to stay on course in busy, high pressured environment.
You are not afraid of using new technologies such as ECM or SharePoint. Ideally you have these technical skills, but if you don't, you embrace new technology learning curves, and willingly apply yourself to learn and use these to an advanced stage.
You are a team-oriented employee and will work with other administrative and executive support staff in a supportive team environment. You have volumes of energy, professional enthusiasm and the required skills that will see you succeed in this role.
