This Pharmacy Group has been providing professional and personal pharmacy services for over 15 years.  Currently 3 stores make up our team with over 40 staff, our Clare store in the Clare Valley, our store in the historic town of Burra and our Angaston store in the Barossa Valley. 

What is a Professional Care Pharmacist?

This is a really exciting position, placing the pharmacist front and centre in our pharmacy to make an even greater impact on our customers’ health outcomes. This role is focused around proactive engagement with our customers and being directly accessible to provide trusted advice and recommendations.

With extremely limited dispensing responsibility the role has a much greater emphasis on having the right conversations with our customers at the counselling bench and in the retail space. The successful applicant will be the face of our pharmacy, building trust with the community and acting as the go-to local primary care specialist.

What’s required to be a Professional Care Pharmacist?

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent)
  • Current General Registration as a pharmacist (without conditions or undertakings) with AHPRA, is required
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with an attention to detail
  • Be able to lead and contribute to a dynamic team
  • Retail pharmacy industry experience
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this job

Our pharmacies are actively involved in local hospitals, local nursing homes and a full range of medication review services.  Our businesses have expanded the role of pharmacists into professional services including weight management, vaccination programs and sleep apnoea management to name a few.

Roles and Responsibilities

First and foremost, you’ll be a customer facing pharmacist who can naturally converse with a wide variety of consumers. You’re out from behind the dispensary and offering advice and services to benefit our consumers. Some roles and responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Forward dispensing
  • Actively completing 6CPA targets
  • Vaccinations
  • Counsel customers on their medical conditions and medications, both prescription and OTC, with the most up to date, evidence based information
  • Execute health services to the highest professional standard
  • Build and maintain relationships with local health professionals
  • Supervise, direct and coach non-professional colleagues (pharmacy assistants, dispensary technicians etc)
  • Assist in dispensary operations, including timely acceptance of prescriptions and counselling of patients
  • Implement and follow QCPP policy and procedure to the highest standard
  • Compound various medications
  • Participation in hospital and aged care facility meetings, site visits and trainings.

This will be a well supported permanent part time or full time pharmacist role, with experienced dispensary assistants and management team.  Your hours will vary around store opening times and to suit the store and your needs.
