Support Worker - Gosnells

We are currently seeking Support Workers to deliver services in Perth South Group Homes, whose values align with ours, strive for excellence and are passionate in providing the best possible service to people with a disability.  Our Community Living staff encourage clients and their families to have choice and control over their services, achieve their goals in their individual plans including improved wellbeing, healthier relationships, participation in their chosen community and independence.

  • Work closely with clients and their family and healthcare professionals to provide best possible service to the individual

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience working with a person with a disability.
  • Previous experience or willingness to learn and use Key Word Sign.
  • An ability to use a computer and mobile phone to access work emails and web based applications such as rosters, case notes and incident reports.
  • An ability and willingness to provide personal care to people who need it including support with showering, toileting and menstruation.
  • An ability and willingness to participate and support people in a range of social and leisure activities.
  • An ability and willingness to with people who may present staff with difficult and challenging situations.
  • Hold a current Full Australian Drivers Licence and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Police Clearance (completed within the last 6 months)
  • A full first aid Certificate (“Provide First Aid”)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working with a person who has low vision.
  • Previous experience working with a person who is deaf.
  • Previous experience supporting people with medical issues including diabetes.
