EXCAVATOR OPERATOR & TEAM MEMBER

About the Role

We are seeking applications for a competent and experienced individual to join Council’s Works team as an Excavator Operator & Team Member. The purpose of this role is to assist with the construction and maintenance of civil infrastructure across the Shire as part of Council’s construction and maintenance activities, delivering a comprehensive and complete service to customers.

Salary and Conditions

  • Permanent Full-Time position
  • Salary Range $61,401 - $71,359 per annum, commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicant
  • 9.5% Superannuation
  • 38 hours per week with Rostered Day Off Scheme

Essential Requirements

Essential Experience and Minimum Qualifications

  • Competency in operating an excavator and extensive excavation experience.
  • National Work Health and Safety Construction Induction (White Card).
  • Proven work experience in constructing and maintaining civil infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to Work Health and Safety systems and procedures.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as a valuable member of a team.

Customer Service

  • Proven ability to deal with customers both internal and external in a polite manner according to standards set by Council.

Level of Planning, Problem Solving and Budget

  • To be aware of budget and be considerate of cost implications of their own work.
  • Basic planning is required by the job holder to ensure they effectively contribute to works programs.

Desirable Requirements

  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Traffic Controller.
  • Implement Traffic Control Plans.
  • Current Class HC Driver’s License.
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction.
  • Working Near Overhead Powerlines Training.
  • Other Plant operation verification of competencies (VOC).
