Operational Quality Specialist - 6 Month Contract

This is a 6 month contract located at Minto.

Purpose

As an Operational Quality Specialist your purpose is to ensure that bulk product, Finished Goods and Raw Materials manufactured or used at Minto and comply with Unilever’s high microbiological standards and pose no threat to consumer safety. 

Another responsibility is to ensure that the entire manufacturing process and everything associated with it (areas, equipment, personnel, procedures etc) adhere to Unilever’s high Quality and Hygienic standards. This will be achieved through the application of principles of GMP, HACCP, Hygiene and TPM.

Quality and Product Safety

  • Microbiological Testing and providing results to QAE Team Leader.
  • Microbiological testing of water and Production areas as appropriate
  • Collection and filling of all Liquids retained samples from production
  • Continuous/Focused Improvement Projects as directed by QAE Manager or Team Leader
  • Maintain Quality documentation for Micro Testing
  • Microbiological method validation for Luminometer if required (under guidance from QAE Team Leader.

Production Compliance 

  • Warehouse Audits as required
  • Coordinate and carry out GMP audits according to the GMP audit plan
  • Complete and maintain HACCP on Process water (Hot and cold) 
  • Assist the QA team when required in the daily running of operations of the factory. Tasks may include SPC studies, sampling of incoming bulk RM, and raising Non Conformance Reports.

Skills and experiences

  • Good communications skills, written and verbal
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and of Microbiological and Hygiene principles 
  • Ability to work under pressure and autonomously
  • Ability to prioritise and ensure delivery to a high standard
  • Results driven, process orientated, and team orientated
