Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Inside Sales Account Representative to lead sales initiatives across our entire solutions portfolio in the commercial segment to join us in Melbourne, Australia. In this role, you'll be responsible for identifying, nurturing, and closing new sales opportunities covering the state of Victoria and Melbourne. You will develop and maintain relationships with customers and channel partners to ensure that they have the knowledge and tools at their disposal to build a business based on Red Hat’s software solutions. You will have an opportunity to sell our entire suite of solutions including our training and cloud solutions. You’ll need be able to explain why open source delivers value to customers and how Red Hat makes it work in their critical environments. As an Inside Sales Account Representative, you'll identify, nurture, and close opportunities with customers through partners, manage sales forecasts on a weekly basis against quarterly targets, and track customer data. You'll also work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders to improve business and create solutions that serve the best interests of both our customers and Red Hat. You will have a great opportunity to participate in internal sales training and certification programs so you can maintain a high knowledge of and proficiency in Red Hat’s offerings and industry trends.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Manage the pipeline, progress and nurture leads, and acquire new business opportunities
  • Sell our solutions and services through channel partners, calling on prospective customers and identifying potential opportunities with partners
  • Communicate with and educate prospects via social selling tools on Red Hat’s solutions and capabilities 
  • Provide technical and administrative solutions information, demonstrations, and customer quotes
  • Manage forecasts, assist partners and track customer opportunities using Red Hat’s company standard customer relationship management (CRM) tools
  • Research, qualify, and develop new leads and opportunities working with the extended Red Hat Commercial and Partner teams
  • Manage and close sales opportunities to meet or exceed assigned sales quotas

Required skills

  • 4+ years of successful record across inside sales in the software industry with demonstrated success achieving or over-achieving your own quota; experience in a similar territory or market segment is a plus
  • Proven success working with and through partners to guide sales strategies and achieve scalability in delivering solutions
  • Demonstrated sales success, identifying and understanding customer opportunities within an assigned market segment
  • Solid understanding of complete sales cycle management from prospect to close; tenacity and persistence to not only identify but also close deals
  • Ability to build relationships through credibility in knowledge and positive desire to make a difference with customers, partners, or the internal Red Hat sales ecosystem
  • Passion for learning and selling the value of Red Hat's open source solutions and serving as an ambassador of open innovation 
  • Motivated to understand and adapt to customers, the market segment, and aligned solution offerings
