Our client who specialises in the publishing space are looking for a driven, self-motivated Sales Manager to lead their Melbourne sales team and promote growth within the Print and E-Books arm of the business.

The Senior Institutional Sales Manager's primary objective is to manage and develop the books business and team in the ANZ territory, ensuring increased visibility and presence of the brand and content, whilst also working with their locally contracted agent and distributor.

You will be responsible for maximising sales from academic institutions for key product groups and for selling digital subscriptions and print academic resources at faculty/institutional level. This role will involve working directly with university decision-makers & budget-holders, librarians, aggregators, Heads of Departments and Teaching & Learning Centres. Regular campus calling and meetings are also expected.


The successful candidate will have proven sales experience in academic publishing with a knowledge of consultative, needs-based selling.

Strong problem-solving skills are essential in order to understand the needs of the customer and convert these into the most appropriate deliverable solutions.

Excellent attention to detail and communication and negotiating skills are essential, as is the ability to priorities a varied workload.

A high-level proficiency in excel and experience with MsCRM is desirable.
