Client Liaison Officer, Venue Hire


  • Permanent, 4 days per week position based in The Rocks 

  • Proactively generate venue sales and provide high quality sales account management including all licensing and compliance for public sector activity 

  • Event management software proficiency and experience coordinating broad range of events 

  • Salary commencing at $85,488 plus superannuation and annual leave loading (Pro rata)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Partnerships and Venues, in this role you will identify and cross-sell venue hire opportunities within the Darling Harbour and The Rocks precincts in Sydney NSW to maximise commercial revenue. You will evaluate the suitability of proposed events in the public realm and provide guidance on use of outdoor event spaces in accordance with Place Management NSW (PMNSW) policies and procedures. You will provide advice on event planning as well as procedures, compliance and guidelines in collaboration with PMNSW’s Event Delivery team. You will have strong account management and administrative skills and have an excellent customer service ethos. You will have experience with event management software systems such as Ungerboeck and be proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite. 

The successful candidate will not only be a customer focussed, can-do individual with a working knowledge of event management but will also be capable of maintaining accountable client administration. A team player, the successful candidate will also demonstrate a passion for high quality event presentation and delivery in these world class harbourside precincts.

The Housing and Property Group within Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) oversees the management of state government assets, including the management of Crown land, the NSW Government’s social housing portfolio, oversight of strategic use and disposal of government owned land and the management of the State’s most notable tourist destinations, such as the Rocks, Sydney and the Sydney Olympic Park.
