About the role
Do you like socialising and making new friendships? Do you have two hours to spare each week? If yes, Oakfield Lodge has the perfect volunteering opportunity for you!
With the support of the Wellness & Lifestyle team, Companionship Volunteers would –
Visit up to 5 residents who are at risk of social isolation each week.
Undertake an activity of the person’s choice – whether it be having a cup of tea and chat, doing a word puzzle or some gardening outdoors!
This role is available on Thursdays and Fridays.
While training and support is provided it would be helpful if you have a basic understanding of dementia and the challenges faced by older people.
All volunteers require a current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care.
