Council's Customer Service team works in a fast paced and dynamic work environment which is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our community, ensuring that we provide the highest level of customer support. Council is committed to having the right resources available at the right time to enable us to be responsive when it counts in order to meet our community's needs.

Council currently has full time temporary and permanent Customer Service Officer positions available. We will also be creating an eligibility list from this process to fill future full time and part time, permanent and temporary customer service roles that may become available.  

Key activities of this role include:

  • First call resolution point for the community, responsible for efficiently and effectively handling face to face, telephone and electronic enquiries;
  • Following up outstanding matters within agreed time frames, working across a range of internal subject matter experts to get results;
  • Providing an outstanding end-to-end customer experience;  
  • Working collaboratively to support the customer service team;
  • Building a comprehensive understanding of the full suite of Council services and activities. 

About You:

  • You ideally hold a Certificate III qualification in Customer Contact;
  • You have significant recent experience in a high-volume inbound customer service environment, including face-to-face, call centre and electronic communication;
  • You will have a proven track record in fielding complex customer enquiries and seeing those enquiries through to resolution;  
  • Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to handle a range of customers with empathy and respect;
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others;
  • Having a work/life balance is important to you.

This role provides a salary range of between $30.53 to $36.64 per hour + superannuation.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies for full time roles. This arrangement may be subject to change.
