    Our client who is one of the world’s largest shipping lines that has been in operations for over 100 years has an opportunity available for an experienced Human Resources Manager. They are a corporate professional business that has the most diverse global network of liner and logistics services in the world.
     
    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The primary function of the Human Resources officer is to ensure the continued development of the businesses, through:

    • attraction, retention, reward and development of employees,
    • the development and implementation of innovative policies and processes, and
    • the provision of human resource management support to the relevant department
    Key to the Human Resources officer is ensuring legislative compliance and other HR functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

    DUTIES – including but not limited to

    • Payroll system is properly maintained to ensure data integrity and records are maintained to meet employee, organisational and statutory requirements and entitlements, including efficient storage of personnel records in a secure location
    • Wages and payments are paid within allocated time frames
    • Timely issue of payment summaries
    • Compliance with all legislative and financial obligations including group tax, payroll tax, workers compensation insurance, superannuation, child support and any other deductions
    • Expected to be aware of and adhere to company policies and lead by example for all staff
    • Responsible for management of relevant departmental staff, including performance, leave, recruitment, selection and staff induction
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, in particular relating to workplace relations, WHS and workers’ compensation, Equal Opportunity, diversity, privacy etc
    • Effectively communicating changes in legislation to the Senior Management and management teams and other employees, as appropriate
    • Ensure employees are developed so that the company can grow and succeed through the development and implementation of an effective, best practice development strategy, including succession planning and workforce planning, developed in conjunction with the Management
    • Assisting managers with team building, mentoring and development of appropriate individual development plans for individuals, especially for identified career development paths
    • Monitor and review employee engagement through relevant tools, including exit interviews and staff surveys as required.
    • Develop and recommend strategic engagement initiatives based on organizational fit and best practice
      SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
    • Postgraduate degree in Human Resources or similar
    • 5-10 years relevant professional and/or management experience
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Conflict resolution
    • Ability to deal with staff at all levels of the organization
