We have roles for casual support workers to join our accommodation services in the Newcastle area. As a support worker in these services you will assist customers with various tasks such as:

  • Mentoring and skill development
  • Assisting with coaching independent life skills
  • Develop programs for the clients to aid them to achieve their individual goals of becoming more independent at home and in the community
  • Providing personal care such as showering, toileting and dressing where required
  • Administering and managing medication

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Availability to work shifts across the week, Monday to Sunday. Shifts will include mornings, afternoons, sleep overs, weekends and public holidays
  • Drive and self-motivation to work towards providing the best outcomes for our customers
  • Ability to be flexible within your work environment and to work as part of a team
  • Strong professional boundaries and the ability to follow procedures
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to provide Active Support
  • Confidence in your ability to provide personal care
  • Experience working with people who have a range of behavioral concerns
  • Current drivers licence
  • Current Provide First Aid certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Have the skills and knowledge to cook and teach healthy eating
  • Knowledge of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
As a new team member you will undergo Induction and buddy shifts to ensure you settle in quickly and are assisting our customers to meet their needs.
