Quarry Manager

Quarry Manager required to lead a small team in regional NSW

Is a family owned business that has been in operation for over 65 years in regional NSW. They are one of the largest and most stable private employers in the region.

Your new role

  • Lead operations and maintenance team at mine and comply with all regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Liaise with regulators and stakeholders for timely approvals of projects, licences and plans
  • Supply quality and quantity of raw material as per the requirement of the customer
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted expenditures, both operating and capital projects
  • Control input production costs to optimise cost per ton
  • Liaise with geologist to ensure forward planning for Pit operations and optimise resource life and utilisation

What you'll need to succeed
  • NSW Quarry Managers Certificate or be willing to go through process to attain
  • A minimum of 10 years hands on experience in open pit mining, crushing, screening, washing and sorting including 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Proven record of profitability managing mining operations with active management of safety, preventative maintenance and production targets
  • Proven experience in supervising small teams (10-15 people)
  • Proven experience in implementing capital projects for mining/ore sorting equipment
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated capability in recruiting, training and leading a successful team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with proficiency in MS Word AND Excel
  • Tertiary qualification in mining, engineering, or surface operations management as per criteria published in the NSW Department of Industry’s Certificate of Competence guide or willingness to sit for assessment for quarry manager
