Assistant Director - Parliamentary Coordination


The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for Assistant Director - Parliamentary Coordination vacancy within the Parliamentary Coordination section, Communications and Corporate Relations branch.

We are the proud custodians of Australian Parliament House - the working symbol of Australian democracy and an iconic destination for citizens and international visitors. It is a place where more than 3,500 people work on sitting days, and which nearly a million people visit each year.

The Communications and Corporate Relations team are looking for an Assistant Director Parliamentary Coordination to join their small and high performing team.

The Parliamentary Coordination Section is the central contact point for all Senate Estimates and parliamentary-related functions. The Section provides high-level strategic advice, support and coordination services to the Executive and line areas to ensure DPS is prepared ahead of the triannual appearance before the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Public Administration.

We are seeking a person who has a proven ability to maintain strong stakeholder relationships as well as work effectively in a small, diverse and busy team environment.  The successful candidate will work well under pressure, demonstrate initiative and sound professional judgement.

The successful candidate will have well developed writing and proof-reading skills, an ability to review and improve business processes and possess high level people and time management skills. They must possess high-level attention to detail and have proven high level organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities.

Ideally the successful applicant will have demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role.
