About the role:

The Contracts Administrator is responsible for ensuring that contractual matters are properly and efficiently negotiated, documented and implemented according to Company standards. While the Contracts Administrator is expected to work autonomously, this role will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the President, Operations and the Project Managers. This position is part of the Operations team and provides project support to contribute to the successful delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for downstream contracts and security of payment legislation
  • Administer routine to complex contracts to ensure accuracy of pricing, scope variations and updates to terms and conditions
  • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum.
  • Minimise all subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims where possible
  • Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained and keep project management teams abreast of any costs issues immediately upon identification

About you:

To be successful in the role, you’ll be required to possess the following:

  • Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce
  • Experience working in a similar role gained in the construction, or other similar project management industry (as a guide 4+ years).
  • Good level of IT skills – ideally utilising project management tools.
  • 2-5 years’ experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry
  • Experience with a variety of project values and complexity
  • Understanding of document control experience in accordance with records management procedures
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation/code on the project to prevent potential business exposure
  • Experience in negotiating with sub-contractors
  • Ability to liaise with client engineers, suppliers and subcontractors
