Senior Consultant | Data & Analytics / North Sydney

Position Summary:                         

Reporting to the Director & Qlik Managing Consultant, the Data Management Senior Consultant will be part of an experienced team delivering Qlik based solutions.  The team has typically focused on front-end Analytics solutions. With Qlik recently expanding their portfolio to include data management, this newly created role will be the key resource for Data Management within the Qlik consulting team.  The Qlik product suite includes sophisticated offerings for Data Integration, Data Warehouse Management and Data Cataloguing. The role is predominantly an implementation consulting role but will also involve pre-sales, for example developing proof of concepts & demonstrations, and being the technical expert in presentations.  The role will provide the opportunity to work with other Qlik Data Analytics products.   The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic Data Management Consultant with strong technical skills looking to work with leading edge products and a team of senior colleagues, in an easy going yet professional environment.

Skills / Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting enterprise data management & analytics environments;
  • Sound understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices;
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills;
  • Analytical thinking with superior problem-solving capability;
  • Appetite for learning;
  • Strong written & verbal communication.
  • Ability to conduct research into data integration & data management standards and products as required;
Technical Skills:
  • ETL experience (SSIS, Datastage, Informatica etc)
  • Development experience; programming, troubleshooting
  • Database Knowledge: Oracle and SQL Server, most customers have one or both
  • Datalake implementations; Hadoop (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR)
  • Datawarehousing; methodology (Erwin, Inmon etc)
  • Cloud architectures; Azure, AWS, Google
  • Mainframe: database (DB2, IMS, VSAM), application programing experience
  • SAP: Business level and technical (ABAP programing, HANA, ERP, CRM, BW)
  • Exposure to Data Cataloguing products an advantage (e.g. Informatica, IBM, Alation etc)
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree qualified in computer science, information technology or similar technical discipline.
  • 5-7+ years’ work experience in a similar role, either in-house or within a consulting group
